Sevan Nisanyan, the owner of Nisanyan Hotels, and a linguist, columnist, academic, and outspoken critic, is facing a demolition order on his hotels throughout Turkey. In a country packed with illegal constructions, the targeting of the Nisanyan Hotels speaks volumes about Turkey’s persecution of its minority citizens who dare to raise their voice against the government or its denialist policies.
It is an act of mad vandalism, but I doubt very much that they will be able to carry it out.
The Nisanyan Hotels are located in Sirince, Izmir, a village of around 600 inhabitants in the Aegean hills. Nisanyan moved there 15 years ago, and almost single handedly turned this small village with a dying agriculture into a booming tourist spot.

A temple dedicated to Shankaracharya, eminent Guru of Hinduism, was opened after five years of wait for public on 20th June 2010, Sunday. Shree Sharadamba Hindu Temple Complex is built at the cost of 11 million dollars. This temple consists Sringeri Sharadamba Temple and the Aadi Shankaracharya Museum.
Hindustan Times reports:
After five years of wait, Shree Sharadamba Hindu Temple complex, built at a whopping cost of 11 million dollars to stand as “a testament to Canada and India’s proud traditions of pluralism”, was finally opened for the public here.
The complex which consists Sringeri Sharadamba Temple and the Adi Shankara Museum, was consecrated yesterday in a ritual known as “Kumbhabhishekam”. The complex is the first in Canada that is dedicated to Adi Shankaracharya, a saint who lived in India 1,300 years ago and played a great role in uplifting Hinduism.

The Paediatric Ophthalmology Services at Sankara Nethralaya Bangalore was inaugurated on the July 3, 2010 by Gp Capt. R.P.G. Naidu, ECHS, Yelehanka.
Dr. TS Surendran, Director, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Sankara Nethralaya spoke about the institution and its remarkable growth in the recent years. Others who spoke on the occasion included chief guest Gp Capt. Naidu, Dr. P. R. Krishnaswamy, Director, Cauvery Medical Centre, Dr. Amaresh COO of CMC and Dr. Chandrasekar, chief anaesthetist.
The paediatric services will include the paediatric optical services, orthoptics evaluation and low vision aids.

Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS) is named after the illustrious sage and philosopher Sree Sankaracharya, was established in the year1993 in Kalady, on the banks of the river Poorna in Kerala.

Introduction
With the imagination of playing a smart role in the growth and forwarding of health care in and around Kolenchery, in central Kerala, the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical Mission was launched in 1967, by the liberal leaders of the church. The actions of the Mission were initiated by launching a hospital in Kolenchery. H.H Ignatius Yakkoob III, Patriarch of Antioch, laid the basis stone on June 17, 1967, in memory of H.H. Baselious Geeverghese II, Catholicose of the East and the Malankara Metropolitan. The Medical Mission Hospital was formally consecrated on September 14, 1970, by H.H Baselious Ougen I.

The film Sankarankoil is based on the incident that happened thirty years ago in Tamil Nadu. The popular stunt master Kanal Kannan is doing the lead role.
Earlier Kanal Kannan did the lead role in the film Satru Mun Kedaitha Thagaval. He has also donned comedy roles in some films.New face Roopika is pairing with Kanal Kannan in the film Sankarankoil. Prabhu is donning the role of Muthuvel who lived thirty years back. Nasar is also donning an important role.
Rohini, Ponvannan, Kanga Karuppu, Singampuli, J S and Sams are also starring in this film. Director K S Ravikumar is also donning a significant role in this film.T Ram Tulasi is handling the camera while new music composer Rajni is composing the music.
